10/20: Cool and gusty.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/20: We saw winds kick up around midnight which helped moderate overnight lows so we are starting warmer than previous mornings but the northern cold front responsible for the winds will keep daytime highs cold. Regional radar shows some moisture to the north hanging on the divide causing snow around Vail but that moves through and we should see a clear but cool fall day.
Temperatures: Lows were mild with the wind at 36 for Gunni and 35 for CB. Highs will hold to 48 for CB and 57 for Gunni and you’ll be glad for layers with this wind. Lows tonight will drop back to the 20s.
Outlook: We are in the middle of a tug of war between colder northern troughs and a wet low off southern CA that will offer a mix for the week. Look for clear skies through Wednesday with highs rebounding slowly as the cold front passes but by the afternoon a pivot in the pattern will draw in the moisture from the southwest. We will likely see snow up high Wednesday and Thursday nights but daytime highs will keep the snow line closer to 10K feet on Thursday.
