10/20: Into a short dry gap.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/20: We are into a dry gap between the southern flow and the trough continuing to drop down the west coast. We will see some scattered showers bouncing around in this southwestern flow but partly to mostly sunny conditions will remain the trend.
Temperatures: Crested Butte dropped to 29 this morning with everyone else in the mid to high 30s. Highs today will keep Telluride the coolest at 52 with CB close behind at 55 while everyone else enjoys the 60s. Lows tonight will be colder where the clear skies hold.
Outlook: This big low bottoms out early Wednesday and starts lifting into our area from the southwest while pulling remnants of Trudy into our area for a warm southern surge. Just how this track settles will dictate who sees the most moisture but models now have it starting more west putting most of the forecast area under the hose Wednesday afternoon through Thursday. Milder air will keep the snowline high with pockets of heavy moisture serving up some strong cells. We will dry from southwest to northeast Friday but with a colder push of air from the northwest for the weekend.
