4/20: A milder southern surge.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 4/20: This cut off low moving on to the west coast is drawing in a southern surge undercutting the high pressure holding to the west. This mix with be mostly just scattered high clouds with some convective build up into the afternoon with some wind but any moisture will hold on the higher terrain to the north. Have layers for the mix but highs will be warm.
Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to 21 valley wide. Highs will gain a bit to 66 for Gunni and 59 for CB. Lows tonight will look about the same.
Outlook: We are in the slow wind up to a bigger pattern change in the west through early Wednesday with mostly sunny skies early and scattered afternoon cloud cover into the afternoons. Any moisture will be spotty at best but the trough from this low moves in Wednesday with high winds and more moisture that will offer a colder and snowier close to the week. Moisture will be limited but a cold front will bring temperatures down 10-15 degrees with scattered snow showers to close the week.
