TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/4: We are into the rinse and repeat weather cycle right now with high pressure dominating in the west. We saw another cold clear night with a sunny day on the way with just some winds expected into the afternoon. Plan on another huge temperature swing and have layers for any early starts or late finishes.
Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to the 20s again valley wide with Gunni at 29 and 26 for CB. Highs will climb to 77 for Gunni and 72 for CB. Lows tonight will look the same.
Outlook: High pressure will remain our dominant weather feature through the weekend and to start the new week but we do see a trough from the north sag close enough to stir up some wind Saturday. This will definitely test how hard the leaves are still hanging on. By Monday we see a slow shift in the pattern with a trough moving in out of the pacific and pushing the high pressure east while also turning the flow to the southwest. This looks like an almost monsoonal pattern but there’s no monsoonal moisture so the effects will be fairly minimal.
