3/15: A cold front blowing through.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 3/15: The northern jet stream is continuing to drop over CO pushing a cold front into the mix overnight with the front of this expected to move over our area through the morning. Models are still pretty aggressive pushing highs that would have temperatures dropping from the lows this morning. Bottomline, we will see colder air today and high gusting winds that will likely affect lift operations so have layers and plan accordingly.
Temperatures: Gunni’s lows held to 34 with CB at 23. Highs will be a question with models keeping CB at 27 and Gunni at 38. Lows tonight will drop back to around 10.
Outlook: We will see a big high dominating the pattern in the west this week drawing in increasingly mild conditions as it settles in. Early in the week it will be west enough to keep colder air in the mix but by Tuesday we start to see mild southwestern air recycling in on this big rotating high and temperatures will climb daily threatening record heat by the end of the week across the west.
