1/17: Gusting winds offering a chilly mix.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 1/17: We are sitting right on the edge of this northwestern flow in the windy fringe where the air masses meet. Gusting winds through the night kept lows mild but colder air will hang on so expect another chilly day before we start to warm. With colder wind chills and periods of cloud cover you will be glad for good layers today.
Temperatures: Lows held to 19 for Gunni and 16 for CB. Highs will hold at 28 for CB and 34 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be colder with less wind.
Outlook: The pattern slowly pivots into the new week with the stubborn high pressure ridge to the west and trough to the east finally showing signs of breaking down. Temperatures will be on a slow rebound from Sunday on and we are back in mostly clear and mild conditions to start the week. By Thursday we will see our first hint at moisture bringing this dry spell to an end but details are still in the works. Keep the sunscreen and layers handy.
