6/4: A hotter drier trend.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 6/4: Clear skies and drier air moving in allowed lows to drop setting up a huge temperature swing for the day as heat from the west settles in. Thundershowers will fire over the San Juans and we may see some gusting winds and scattered clouds but we are into a hotter and drier trend.
Temperatures: Lows dropped to 30 for CB and 36 for Gunni. Highs will break 80 for Gunni and 74 for CB. Lows tonight will look about the same.
Outlook: The big cut off low over northern Baja has started moving and allowed the western high pressure to move in with hot dry conditions on tap into the weekend. A trough moving out of Canada into the northwest pivots the flow to the northwest and slowly around to the west through the weekend. The mix will mean a whole lot of sunshine and hot temperatures but also high gusting winds as a daily occurrence. This will be our first real taste of the heat and as we add wind, fire danger will stay high and likely increase so be smart.
