4/24: Beautiful but changes brewing.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 4/24: Today will be the last day of the mild high pressure with a surge from the southwest that will mean clearer and warmer conditions. Winds will be the one variable but we are into a much more sun heavy mix with a beautiful day on tap.
Temperatures: Lows dropped to 26 for Gunnison and just 27 for Crested Butte. Highs will pop to 71 for Gunni and 63 for CB. Lows tonight will look the same.
Outlook: This next low is moving in our direction out of the pacific and will build in through the day on Thursday. Look for a sunny start but clouds with thicken into the afternoon with thundershowers possible turning to snow overnight. The snow line stays high to start with temperatures remaining mild into Friday but a cold front and second round of moisture will push temperatures lower with the valley likely split offering a sloppy mix. Friday afternoon through Saturday will offer the best potential with a rain snow mix down low and heavy wet snow up high. There is an upslope component to this that may spare us the heavier snow but plan on wet conditions into Sunday with Monarch and points east offering tricky conditions.
