Late yesterday afternoon, lighting struck Whetstone and started a small fire. The Crested Butte Fire Department got there extremely fast and put it out before it could become anything serious. A huge thanks goes out to them, and firefighters all across our state for the work they have done, and the work they will continue to do this summer. Stage 1 fire restrictions go into effect on Monday.
