8/18: Take advantage of a beautiful day.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- Today-8/18: We are into the dry slot and today will be sunny with a significant warm up after a colder clear night. Look for some cloud cover building with the heat of the day with a few isolated thunder cells possible but much drier air has moved in. Take advantage of a beautiful day because this changes again by tomorrow.
Temperatures: Crested Butte dropped to 37 overnight and 46 for Gunnison. Highs will rebound to 76 for CB and 80 for Gunni. Lows tonight stay cool but will gain a degree or two.
Outlook: High pressure will hold on into Friday morning but gets pushed out by a western wave that draws moisture back in by the afternoon. Look for scattered thundershowers that continue overnight with heavy cloud cover and rains on tap into Saturday. This resurgence of moisture will keep western CO wet with Saturday looking like the peak of that moisture with slow moving wetter systems. Sunday will see a little drying with widows of sunshine but we are wet and well saturated so expect scattered thundershowers especially after noon. By Monday the drying trend will have us back into sunny mornings but the afternoon build up remains a consistent threat.
