Check out this shredit of Ed Dujardin getting after during the 2019 spring in the CB backcountry. When the goods are good you should probably keep skiing them, right?! And the CAST system rules. PS. Check his 2019 mini golf edit here. Ed Dujardin Spring 2019 from West Elk Project on Vimeo.
The competitive junior freeride season wrapped up in Kicking Horse, British Columbia last week at the IFSA North American Junior Freeride Championships. Ten percent of the overall field is invited to crown the finals’ winners and overall champions. After a hard-fought season earning points to get invited, the CBMST sent 11 athletes up to champs, […]
If you haven’t yet seen the videos of West Elk Project co-founder Ed Dujardin teeing up some awesome lines this season on the @shredwardstomps Instagram, you should check out his mid-season POV edit. It features a hot soundtrack from A Shadow of Jaguar and a bunch of lines from the Crested Butte backcountry, CBMR, and […]
Crested Butte Mountain Resort played host to an IFSA junior regional freeride competition on Saturday under a mix of cloudy skies and flat light. The classic Colorado chalky hard pack snow that we all know and love so well here in the Elk Mountains was ripping and skiers ranging from 12-18 showcased their skills on […]
Mikey Curran has been putting together some awesome local content, not to mention his job for MSP Films, for more than the last few years. He got after it with local all-around great guy, Ryan Sullivan, to make this cool, woodsy-feel edit of mountain biking in CB. Check it out! FALL FLOW from Mikey Curran on Vimeo.
Resort Looks to Expand both Intermediate and Expert Terrain While trolling the outer boundary of Teocalli bowl for some fresh snow this meager winter, I came across a large (drool inducing) triple pillow line that looked ready to be skied. It was something I’ve never seen at Crested Butte. The only problem was an […]
Two Sweedish women, tired of uncomfortable bike helmets, have created another solution. It looks like a scarf, and like an airbag, expands to protect you when you fall. Interesting and innovative stuff. Thoughts? The Invisible Bicycle Helmet | Fredrik Gertten from Focus Forward Films on Vimeo.
Crested Butte represented at Snowbird! Eight Crested Butte athletes were skiing in the finals. Tom Runcie led the charge taking 3rd place and earning the coveted Backcountry.com Sickbird Belt Buckle. Despite poor snow conditions around the Rocky Mountains this winter, Snowbird was able to put on a show for the North American Freeskiing Championships on […]
Here in Crested Butte we care about our furry friend companions, not saying that other people don’t, but it’s not everywhere that you have a full-blown party with a DJ, a sled course, and a booter in memory of a rad dog. Trevor Bona captured the stoke on his drone with his GoPro. Enjoy these […]
Alexander Polli, an Italian-Norwegian wingsuit and basejump athlete, recently flew through a tiny hole/arch in the Roca Foradada Mountains in Montserrat, Spain. The feat was impressive enough to make Sportscenter’s top ten plays. His entire flight is phenomenal to watch. Nothing to do with us but very incredible.
Mark Saturday, March 9th as a day you should probably get off work for. Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s annual spring concert, Festevol, will take place on the same day as Colorado FreeSkier’s Big Air on Elk. In addition, CBMR will be hosting an IFSA Junior National Series big mountain competition that will take place during the […]
Tanner Hall’s 2014 season edit is nine minutes long and worth every second. Some of these pillow lines are ridiculous.
Salomon Freeski TV is back for its 9th season. It’s looking good.
When we see things like this on the internet, we have to share them. This video was taken back in August up in Jasper, Alberta, when two mountain bikers got a little too close to a grizzly bear momma and her cub. Rider 1’s straight-down approach to running away is commendable and occurs by :45 in […]
Colorado native Duncan Adams is a ripper. The Faction Skis rider has pretty superb style and can shred the entire mountain. Here’s his 2015 edit. Duncan Adams 2015 from Duncan Adams on Vimeo.
