Julien Lopez Tries to Outrun Avalanche

julienlopezavalanche

This is chilling to watch.  You don’t need to speak French to understand the gravity of the situation. Last April, our “Flying Frenchman” friend, Julien Lopez, who recently took 3rd overall on the Freeride World Tour, was caught in an avalanche skiing in the Alps. We’re so glad he came out OK.  It also takes a certain amount of humility to share these close encounters with death with the rest of us. The lesson learned here is that even if you outrun an avalanche, you better not eat it over the handlebars.  That, and you better have friends who know their stuff and can get you out in time.
