Early season fun in the sun, West Elk style
Yesterday was a great day to do anything outside, especially to ride a bike. I followed a crew of CB’s finest ski and bike mechanics down to Hartman Rocks for some fun in the sun, and dust. The trails are in great shape and the temps are even warm enough to pitch a tent and build a camp fire with all that left over wood you didn’t burn this winter. So pack up the vehicle, lube up your chains, and head down to Gunnison for a mini vacation, whether for a few hours or a few days, you’ll be thankful you did!
- The boys rip though the high desert terrain while the West Elks look on from the distance.
- Tuning skis one day and riding in the sunshine the next. Eliot is stoked to live in the West Elks!
- Rusty drops an optional slick rock line on Rattlesnake trail.
- Rolling another steep one.
- The boys climb through the rock formations at Hartmans.
- The riding rocks at Hartmans!
- Eliot threads the needle at speed.
- Gattis rolls a steep one.
- Eliot’s DH background usually leads him to seek out the steeper more technical rock lines at Hartmans.
- Keeping it true to the Hartmans way, another sandy climb on Rattlesnake.
rode hartman’s this weekend, perfect conditions
Thanks for the great images. Looking forward to biking in that beautiful area again this summer.
Great shots and looks like we could already use a little rain to buff out the corners!
