7/21: Sunny start but an active afternoon.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 7/21: Yesterday’s highs hit 95 for Gunni and 87 for CB and today will be slightly cooler but still hot. The atmosphere remains well saturated so look for this heat to fuel another round of thundershowers by the afternoon with potentially strong cells capable heavy downpours, small hail and high winds. Get an early start for adventures up high and make smart terrain choices.
Temperatures: Lows held to 44 for CB and 51 for Gunni. Highs will climb back to 91 for Gunni and 85 for CB. Lows tonight look the same.
Outlook: The center of this high that has been dominating our pattern drops to the southeast over Texas through Wednesday before headed back to the 4 Corners to close the week. This will increase moisture with more consistent cloud cover earlier through Thursday likely fueling more consistent slower moving rains. This will cool temperatures and limit the convective nature of cells. By Friday we return to more of the classic monsoonal afternoon build up with sunny starts and that continues into the weekend.
