5/3: Changes brewing.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 5/3: We are into a day of transition in the western weather pattern with high clouds mixing with sunny skies early but thickening into the afternoon. Any actual moisture will likely hold off until later tonight but we will see some windy cells into the afternoon from convective build up. Nothing to change plans over today so enjoy a last dry day.
Temperatures: Lows dropped to 27 for Gunni and 22 for CB. Highs will climb back to 63 for Gunni and 55 for CB. Lows tonight will be warmer with increased clouds.
Outlook: We are headed into the new week with the return of moisture with temperatures cooling to start but then warming again to close. A big low off the west coast will drop further towards Baja while pivoting the southwest flow up into our area. Temperatures will slowly drop through Wednesday with overnight lows cold enough for snow to the valley floors turning to a rain snow mix through the days. There is not a ton of moisture here but dynamics are favorable from the west southwest.
