5/17: Teeing up a beautiful weekend.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 5/17: A surge of milder air from the southwest will push daytime highs up another couple degrees with clear skies expected to hold. We may see some high clouds along the higher terrain and gusting drainage winds with the heat of the day but nothing to really challenge a beautiful day.
Temperatures: Lows dropped with the clearer skies to 31 for Gunni and 27 for CB. Highs will climb to 61 for CB and 70 for Gunni. Lows tonight will look about the same.
Outlook: We have a trough dropping in from the northwest and a subtropical jet sitting on the 4 Corners but we will be in the narrow dry slot in between. Look for the possibility of a close enough pass Saturday afternoon for some scattered convective showers with high gusting winds but the drier flow wins back the high ground for Sunday and most of Monday. Models get a little mixed Monday night and the northern flow may get a little more active but still with just a mix and little organized moisture. Beautiful conditions will hold through the weekend so make some plans.
