Not only is he one of the best skiers in the Butte, Rob Dickinson is one of the better people you’ll meet here too. Originally from upstate New York, the 32 year old moved to Crested Butte in 2008 after being blown away by the terrain he skied on a visit. Rob owns and runs Precise Painting, a successful business he began before he moved here. He married general badass Sydney Dickinson last May to the disappointment of men everywhere.
Rob followed a strong 2011 comp season with stronger 2012. After placing 2nd at Taos, Rob was in second at the Freeskiing World Championships at Snowbird before an uncharacteristic crash knocked him off the podium. Rob’s season ended with a crash at Kirkwood where he broke his tib/fib. Look for Rob to carry his momentum into next season as one of the premier competitors on the FWT. Rob expains, “Next year I am looking to be back at it 100%. I am training my ass off to get there. I am looking to compete, but take it as it comes.” Rob’s sponsors are Flylow, Discrete, and Arva Snow Safety Equipment.
