5/7: Colder and clearing into tonight.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 5/7: The brunt of the storm has passed us but moisture wrapping back into the west has bled far enough south to serve up another snowy morning for CB while Gunni sits on the other side of the snow line just getting some rain. Drier but colder air starts pressing in from the northwest through the day which will stir up another round of high winds for the afternoon but also clear skies into tonight. The combination of clearer skies and colder air will send lows plummeting so plan accordingly for sensitive vegetation.
Temperatures: Lows stayed warm with the clouds at 31 for Gunni and 24 for CB. I think guidance on highs is overbaked and we will hold to 37 for CB and 48 for Gunni. Lows tonight will reach 10 for CB and 20 for Gunni.
Outlook: This drier cold front will clear skies for Wednesday but then we end up in a dirty mix with remnant moisture in a stagnant flow. For Wednesday expect chilly daytime highs and another colder night but then temperatures start a slow climb into the weekend. With little organization we will see a mix of sunshine and showers into the weekend.
