5/13: Back into spring conditions.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 5/13: The tail end of this last system has cleared to the east and we are seeing milder air fill in to the west. This will mean mostly sunny conditions early and the start of a drying trend but there will be enough left over moisture to allow convective build up with scattered showers through the afternoon. Generally cooler highs will limit the convective potential but it will be worth being prepared with some gusting winds.
Temperatures: Clearer skies allowed lows to drop to 30 for Gunni and 26 for CB. Highs will gain on yesterday reaching 63 for Gunni and 54 for CB. Lows tonight will look about the same.
Outlook: Skies will be sunny to start Tuesday but we see a weak wave lift in from the southwest fueling afternoon showers and then this is followed by a trough from the northwest grazing the area for Wednesday. Models are backing off the strength of this but expect slightly cooler highs and a more active overall day. This is gone Thursday and temperatures start warming again with a drier trend into the weekend.
