For the second time in two weeks, Aaron Blunck finished on the podium of a major competition.  Under the lights Friday evening at US Grand Prix at Copper, there was no one better than the 17 year old Crested Butte native.

Blunck, who has a history of doing well in less than perfect conditions, earned himself a score of 92.0 with the snow coming down.  “Having my parents here is a huge support for sure. They try to make it to every event they can and for them to be here for the time I won is huge. I can’t believe that they were here. I’m so happy,” Blunck said after taking first. It has been an incredible start to the 2014 winter.  Last week, Blunck took 2nd at the Breckenridge Dew Tour stop.  The points earned from the past two competitions have put Blunck on the verge of a United States Olympic Team spot.

Blunck’s next competition is the Grand Prix stop at Breckenridge January 8-12, which was moved from Northstar, California because of snow conditions.
