World renowned skier and local supermom Wendy Fisher has just become the Executive Director of the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation. The program, which educates, promotes, and supports amateur snowsports in the Gunnison Valley, has greatly enhanced the Mountain Sports Team, the Nordic Team, and the Ski for PE program. Rising ski star Francesca Pavillard Cain is currently competing on freeskiing’s biggest stage in Europe with the help of the foundation.
“Im excited about growing the foundation, programs, and events. The business side is tricky. Im learning a lot. We’ll see where it goes,” explained Fisher after the announcement. Fisher was a member of the US Freeskiing Team before lighting up the screen for Matchstick Productions. Fisher has served as a member of the Mt. Crested Butte Town Council and currently represents the resort as a CBMR Ambassador. Fisher takes over for Scott Cline, who moved on to a job at Acli-Mate.
