Are y’all ready for the Subaru Freeride Series? First competition is February 8th at Snowbird. No Crested Butte event this year, but we still love them.
If Level 1 Productions takes the time to make someone’s season edit, you know two things. One, the skier is disgustingly good. Two, it’s going to be a very well done edit. If you saw Level 1’s feature Less, you’ve seen Tatum Monod double back flip, launch cliffs, and shred pillow lines. If you hadn’t heard of […]
Check out this press release from the Gravity Ranch, the action sports facility to be constructed across Highway 135 from CB South. We covered the first announcement of the facility here on West Elk Project, when it was originally known as the Airport. Now, fundraising efforts are rolling along, the right land has been found, and […]
Despite really tough snow conditions, competitors at the Subaru Freeride Series in Telluride threw down. CB represented well. Mary Boddington followed up her CB win with another first place finish. Rob Vandervoort took fourth for the male snowboarders. Mark Mikos took eighth for the male skiers. You can find WSCU Mountain Sports recap below, written […]

We try not to be political but this Winter Olympics bobsledding ad from the Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion is too funny.
Western State Colorado University riders Andrew Arnold, Grady Shoop, and Hunter Knoll took advantage of Ullr’s return to Crested Butte for the 2014 season. Here is their season edit. Season Recap 2014 from ANdrew Arnold on Vimeo.
The final movie in the Jeremy Jones trilogy, Deeper, Further, Higher is set to drop next fall. The footage from year one of the two year project looks amazing. We cant wait.
Eric Freson joined a group of powder starved Crested Buttians for a week at British Columbia’s Meadow Lodge. It looks like they found what they were looking for.
This video was send to us by CB native Randy Evans, who now resides in Montana. This slide occurred January 29th. The victim is buried nearly 10 minutes. Though the video ends before he is actually pulled out, you can hear the rescue underway. The victim suffers only a dislocated shoulder. Very scary stuff.
