10/22: Changes Brewing
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/22: We are looking at another day a lot like yesterday with sunny skies and a huge temperature swing as the southern surge continues. Our dry slot coming to an end is the variable and satellite imagery shows cloud cover and moisture working its way in our direction with high clouds likely this afternoon and snow showers early Thursday morning.
Temperatures: Lows dropped to 19 again for Gunni and 18 for CB. Highs will rebound to 65 for Gunni and 60 for CB. Lows tonight will warm to the 20s with increasing clouds.
Outlook: The front end of this low moves in from the southwest overnight with temperatures dropping ahead of the moisture with snow likely to the valley floors through Thursday morning. The snow line will be right around 9500ft through the day which will mean a mix down low and slick travel on the higher passes. Colder air will build in as this progresses to the east with the center to our south and more of an upslope finish into Thursday night. This will mean continued challenges on Monarch and to the east while colder but drier conditions feed in from the west for Friday.
