Tamashii, a film by Ross Reid, is a social documentary told through skiing that seeks to examine the role of social media in our lives, especially as skiers. “I wanted to make a film that people could relate to, that would encourage them to unplug and explore the great outdoors with others, getting to know them on a more personal level than that portrayed on facebook and instagram,” says Reid. The project features a talented crew including Andy Mahre, Anna Segal, and Karl Fostvedt. The crew has already gone and filmed in Japan (the shots look great, as you will see in the trailer), but need some funding help to finish the project. Check out their trailer and Kickstarter below.
