Silver Queen and East River To Open Saturday

CBMR

Saturday is going to be a fun day on the hill at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.  Both the Silver Queen and East River Lift will be open.  Be smart out there.  Rocks, trees, and snow snakes lurk.  Thanks to CBMR, the packers, and especially mountain operations for the good start this season.  Here is the press release from CBMR.

Silver Queen: We will be opening the Silver Queen on Saturday morning. This will include all of the trails on the front side, except Monument, Silvanite and Lower International. Upper international, Crystal and Twister will funnel down and exit by the Ice Bar to continue down Lower Twister to get back to the bottom. We are hoping that snowmaking conditions allow us to get Lower International open by the middle of next week.

Please Note: We were hoping to get the Silver Queen open by this Thursday, so you may have heard some rumors about that. Due to the warm temps, we’ve been seeing, the snowmaking crew hasn’t been able to get the guns off Keystone and over to Lower Twister yet, so we are delayed in that area. That is part of the deal when we’re working with Mother NatureJ  So please help explain this to people who may have been informed of the Thursday opening. Regardless, Saturday is going to be AWESOME!

East River: We will also be opening East River on Saturday! (To reiterate, Saturday is going to be AWESOME!) This will include all terrain on the East River pod, except Lower Treasury and Floresta.

Let’s continue to enjoy the awesome early conditions that we’re experiencing and thank mountain operations for getting lifts open earlier than planned, snow on the ground as quickly as they can, ropes and tower pads installed, and smiles on our faces (among everything else they do to open the mountain).
