“We at Central States cup are proud to offer the second stop of the CSC series at Crested Butte’s Evolution Bike Park. We have been working closely with Crested Butte Mountain Resort staff to bring you one of the finest downhill races around. I’m excited to see the turnout and finally see a new series available in our region” said Nicholas Whittemore co-director of the CSC.

“DH racing has been an important part of the history of riding in Crested Butte and has helped guide the development of the Evolution Bike Park over the past 5 years,” explains Christian Robertson, Evolution Bike Park Manager.  “We hope to have our newest DH track ready for the CSC weekend.  We look forward to having competitors out on the natural track that will really lend itself to DH racing.  The CSC Evolution Downhill is the perfect way to kick off the season at the Park.”

About Evolution Bike Park:

Known as one of the birthplaces of mountain biking, Crested Butte, Colorado thrives on everything that involves two wheels in the warmer months. As the sport of mountain biking has grown and the industry has changed, so has the riding in Crested Butte. With legendary cross country trails in the back yard of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, it was only a matter of time that the progression of gravity-fed riding took hold in this small town in the Rockies. In 2009, the resort began trail building for lift-served mountain biking, creating the foot print for what is now the Evolution Bike Park.

The Evolution Bike Park now boasts 20 trails and over 30 miles of single track throughout Crested Butte Mountain Resort. From flowy cross country single track to wide rolling beginner trails to expert downhill runs, the Evolution Bike Park has something for everyone to progress their riding. The Specialized Demo Center carries top of the line bikes and offers lessons guides for those looking for a few tips on two wheels.
