IMBA Will Not Support Wilderness Amendment Act

The International Mountain Biking Association has announced that it is not supporting H.R. 1349, a bill introduced by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) that would amend the Wilderness Act of 1964 to permit certain wheeled devices, including mountain bikes, in Wilderness areas. Leo Slemett, Sam Anthamatten, and Markus Eder, three of the most prolific big mountain skiers today, ventured to Georgia in the hopes of summitting and skiing Ushba. They were unsuccessful in that objective, but found amazing big mountain lines that rival Alaska.
