Need some inspiration? Check out the story of Angeli VanLaanen. Angeli grew up in the Pacific Northwest skiing and enjoying life to the fullest. Soon enough, she was competing in halfpipe with the best skiers in the world. However, in 2009, Angeli was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. It turns out she had been living with symptoms since she was ten years old. The recovery took three years.
After three years of treatment, she returned to competitive skiing this past winter. Angeli took sixth at the FIS World Championships and ninth overall on the AFP points total. Now that she is symptom free, her goal is to compete for the United States at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. We’re rooting for her.
