It snowed yesterday as if nature was celebrating town putting the bike racks out on Elk Avenue.  However, it is sunny and beautiful again today; surprise! A bunch of locals can’t wait for some lift-served downhill action.  On Friday, CBMR announced the following on their Facebook page:

“Great news! Summer will be arriving early at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! We will be opening the Red Lady Express for the weekend of June 9 and 10. The hours of operation will be 9:30 am to 5 pm. In addition, zipline tours will run from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Mini golf and bike rentals will be available starting at 9 am both days.

Daily summer lift operations begin on Saturday, June 16, 2012 with the Red Lady Express and the Silver Queen Express lifts. The Silver Queen will be open from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm daily, weather permitting. The Red Lady will be open from 9:30 am to 5 pm daily, but will remain open Wednesdays and Fridays until 7 pm, weather permitting.

To purchase lift tickets and passes stop by the Adventure Center located in Mountaineer Square. Ticket office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m daily. For more information, please call 970-349-2211.”

To get you in the mood, here is an oldie-but-goodie filmed in CBMR’s Evolution Bike Park, featuring Red McIntosh and Will Dujardin:

Does this make up for CBMR taking away winter employees’ summer passes?
