Kye Matlock – 13 and in JAPAN

kyematlock_japow

When you are the son of international ski guides and lifelong skiers, odds are that you will be a great skier.  Kye Matlock is no exception, this 13 year-old was lucky enough to go to Japan with his family for 10 weeks while his mom and dad, local legends Jill and Ross Matlock, led backcountry tours out of Niseko.  Kye put together this video with the help of Drew and Wendy Crosby, and his younger shredder brother, Jamis.  It might be a little long at 8 minutes, but in terms of a short film, this kid nailed it.  Watch out, MSP!  It has the timelapse drive to airplane intro, the standard Japow pointback POV, a crash section, and even a few backflips and 3s.  Enjoy!!
