Photo: Trent Bona | The Alpine Odyssey Leadville Qualifier is back in Crested Butte for its 2nd year on September 15th. Lance Armstrong recently tweeted that he will be coming back to defend his 2011 race win. Local mountain bike legend Dave Weins will also be racing this year. This dynamic duo will lead an exciting race. Come on out and show your support as there will be plenty of locals also competing.

The race starts at 9am at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area. The course will stay almost the same as 2011 with the exception of the roll through town. The first lap will be on Slate River Road to the top of Paradise Divide to Schofield Pass and back Gothic Road. The course will then continue to Meander and Columbine single track back to the base area. The second lap rolls out to Washington Gulch and back up and over Paradise Divide and continues the same path as the first lap with a finish in the CBMR base area.

Check out last years video recap of the race, get out there and support the racers!
