CB FWQ 2 Star Postponed

new-cbmr-logo

Today, the 2 Star Freeride World Qualifier, originally scheduled for the end of the month, was postponed until Wednesday, March 18th, where it will run as a one day event preceding the FWQ 4 Star.  The snow situation at Crested Butte Mountain Resort is getting very bleak.  On the High Lift, everything but Teocalli Bowl is closed.  We are not alone in this though.  The 4 Star at Crystal was cancelled too, as well as a Junior National at Squaw Valley.  We do have a system coming through this weekend, so keep those fingers crossed. Below is the press release from Patti Hensley at CBMR.

To All Crested Butte 2* FWQ Competitors:

The Crested Butte 2* Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ), originally scheduled for February 27-28, has been postponed until Wednesday, March 18th.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) officials and the IFSA came to this decision in order to guarantee that the venue will have adequate coverage for a safe, high quality event.

The event will now run as a single-day competition the day before the scheduled 4* FWQ. Athletes will be able to arrive for venue inspection on Tuesday March 17th.

*Note that this contingency plan is highly snow-dependent and is subject to change.

Should you need to cancel lodging accommodations, please present this letter to your lodging provider.  All lodging booked through CBMR’s central reservations (Crested Butte Vacations) under the Freeride World Qualifier reservation block will be refunded; however, we cannot guarantee lodging refunds for any reservations made outside of our reservations system.  Please email phensley@cbmr.com if you need to process a registration refund due to the date change, or if you have any questions regarding lodging refunds.

Thank you,

Patti Hensley
