Blunck Aspen

Photo: Walter Wood   |    Aaron Blunck took his first career victory this past Sunday at the Aspen Freeskiing Open.  In what has become his breakout season, the 16 year old Crested Butte native has three podiums, and has made great progress towards qualifying for the 2014 Winter Olympics.  In a snowy final, Blunck’s run consisted of a right 900 tail grab, a left 900 tail grab, a flair, an alley oop 540 safety grab, an ally oop double flat 720, and a switch left 720 mute grab.  “I’m stunned.  It was a long day that couldn’t have turned out any better.  I was so stoked to be on top of the podium with two awesome friends as well.”  The podium was rounded out by Alex Ferreira and Walter Wood.  Check back as photos and video highlights become available.
