The Crested Butte Avalanche Center, Crested Butte Mountain Guides and The Alpineer will host a “Beacon Brush Up” on December 1st in the Crested Butte Town Park. Forecasters from CBAC and guides from CBMG will be on hand to offer instruction for beginner and advanced backcountry users. Beacon courses will be set up for practice and demonstrations and industry reps from Mammut, Peips, Ortovox, and BCA will be on hand to demo new beacons and avalanche airbags and update your beacons. This event is free and open to the public from 11am-3pm. The Alpineer will host a gathering from 3pm-6pm with free food, beer more demos and discounts on all avalanche related products. Come on out and brush up on your skills before the snow flies!
