Crested Butte athletes are at it again.  USASA Nationals just finished today at Copper, CO.  On Sunday, 15 year-old Aaron Blunck won the Open Men’s Halfpipe.  Aaron outperformed a super stacked and generally older field earning himself a $1000 paycheck.  Soon after Brooks Hudson finished in 2nd for the 8-9 boys in skiercross.  Following that, Josie Byron finished in 5th place for the 16-18 girls in skiercross.  Her CBMST teammate Hannah Watt-Sax finished in 3rd place for the Open Women’s skiercross despite being taken out by the skier in front of her early in the race.  Alden Watson and Kai Sherman showed strong efforts in the 10-12 boys and 13-15 boys, respectively, but were unable to reach the finals to place.

The West Elk Project is stoked to see the next generation of skiers and riders competing and progressing our sports.  Congratulations to all athletes!!  Thanks to Woody Lindenmeyr for contributing to this report.  Check for more information on the USASA Nationals at usasa.org.
