Trail Review: Strand to Deer Creek

Framing the Deer Creek Trail

This past Sunday I decided to ride the following trails and to provide an update to our readers on their conditions.

My route: Tony’s trail – Upper Loop – Whetstone Vista – Canal Trail – Strand Bonus – Strand – Deer Creek – Upper Loop and finished on Tony’s trail. 35 Miles.

The weekend crowd was out with many cars parked at the Brush Creek Trail head and at the bottom of strand. Weekend warriors included our own Mayor Huck who was spotted at the top of the climb on Deer Creek!

Overall the trails are all in great shape until the middle of Deer Creek where muddy trails are still drying out. Luckily Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association has put up a sign reminding everyone to walk and save the trail for future use!

Get out and ride!
