A fatality occurred yesterday on the Gunnison River. Below is the press release from the Gunnison County Sherriff’s Office. Exercise caution around the water. The rivers are very high. Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of the deceased.

On 6-15-15 Gunnison County Communications was notified of a missing rafter in the Gunnison River. Swift Water Rescue, Gunnison area law enforcement and EMS responded to the situation.
After an extensive Air, Land, and Water search for the 54 year old female, she was recovered from the river and taken to the Gunnison Valley Hospital where she later passed away.
