First Real Snow, Not Great for Skiing

mattsierra

Last week’s snow was pretty exciting.  If you were ready, how could you not try and get out there?  We had about 2″ in town, which could mean anything from 2″ – 24″ up high, but it ended up being more on the lighter side.  Matt Evans and Sierra Halverson went up to College Bowl on Baldy last Saturday.  While there was no doubt they had fun, Sierra said, “It was a miracle if you didn’t hit a rock in your turn.”  So, check the photo of their turns, at least we know people were out there having fun.  Just as a warning, if you really want to get out there, don’t bring equipment you care about.  Matt’s skis are displayed here with a lovely new core shot and a few scratches from his one 400 ft. vertical run.  With nothing showing in the 7-day forecast, it looks like we have to keep staying patient for real snow to show up.  Check our Countdown to Opening Day series and get ready!

There's a skin track and some tracks in there.

Matt's Blizzards take a beating.
